Matru Puja

Indian culture lays a lot of emphasis on the deep emotional bond between mothers and children. Keeping in line with this thought, students perform an annual ‘puja’ – reciting verses in Sanskrit and performing rites in the traditional way, where they ask for forgiveness from their mothers for the big and small mistakes and also seek their blessings for all their future endeavours. A serene, spiritual, sombre and emotional atmosphere is created during the ‘puja’.
